Great Spiritual day

The kids were out of school today so we decided to take them to Pres. Hinckley's viewing. It was a long line (2 1/2 hrs) to be able to see the prophet but an experience that none of us will forget. We had all the snow but the sun was shining and just beautiful outside! The kids standing in the lines had built all these little snowmen along the walls as they were waiting and some had candy in them for eyes or even hair clips or small sticks they could find. It was so cute. I'm sure Pres. Hinckley loved it! As we were leaving 2 of his daughters actually got up and talked to everyone just to say thank you for the support and said they knew if their dad were here he would definitely say "What is all this fuss about!" As we were able to see our prophet, I do not know how anyone could deny he was a prophet of god! We saw the notes from his grandkids and great grandkids that made us realize we also saw a grandpa, father, husband, that was just doing what the lord told him and had prepared him to do. He was fulfilling his purpose here on earth. Most of us will not be prophets or even hold positions where our faces are so well known but we all have purposes too...this really stuck with me as I left the conference center. I watched Sheri Dew on KBYU this morning and she talked about how he didn't like the focus being on him and always said that this was the lords church, not his. I wondered if my thoughts were what Pres. Hinckley would want us all to know. That we can all make a difference and we all have our own devine purposes....

Pocahontas

Jadyn is in the 5th grade and she chose Pocahontas as her hero this year! She had to do an oral report in the first person as if she was Pocahontas. Her grandpa made the costume and all the props, including the club which was like what had almost been used to kill John Smith, her friend from the english colonies. Last night all the 5th graders had a wax muesum at the school in their costumes. I loved it but I was trying the whole time not to laugh. We walk into the library and they have it dark with lamps around each student as they stood frozen and pretending they were wax. The best was a little girl that had dressed up as Marie Osmond(Hero???) with a long black wig and all these dolls around her and one in her lap that it looked like she was petting. It was like a horror movie! Then there were all the Martin Luther Kings and basketball players that had colored their skin with something to make it all black! Oh so funny!! Of course I had to make Jadyn laugh and she got mad at me cause I said "wow I didn't know Pocahontas had braces!" The students are all so serious! I'm such a mean mom!!!

Weekend in St. George

We were able to go to St. George this last weekend so that Scott could ordain Tyler a teacher. While we were there we got to watch his last basketball game! The kids really love their big brother and hate that he lives so far away but we are so proud of him! We also went to Fiesta fun and went swimming at the hotel. Oh and the best part is that St. George felt like summer compared to what we are use to here!

And the decision is.........

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC!!!!

I know...not what we had even thought about before! The more I thought about it...the more I realized my life is so crazy right now that I just want to lay in the sun and do NOTHING and be pampered! I already have many adventures all day, every day at home! HAHA! Why go someplace to have more???? We are staying at a 4-5 star resort, all inclusive! I also love the caribbean beaches and white sand! Its my favorite! I really can't wait to relax in the sun all day with a good book...March 12th can not get here fast enough.

My True Color....

Take this test!

You're blue — the most soothing shade of the spectrum. The color of a clear summer sky or a deep, reflective ocean, blue has traditionally symbolized trust, solitude, and loyalty. Most likely a thoughtful person who values spending some time on your own, you'd rather connect deeply with a few people than have a bunch of slight acquaintances. Luckily, making close friends isn't that hard, since people are naturally attracted to you — they're soothed by your calming presence. Cool and collected, you rarely overreact. Instead, you think things through before coming to a decision. That level-headed, thoughtful approach to life is patently blue — and patently you!

Which one????

So Scott and I are trying to figure out where to go for our annivrsary in March and we have narrowed it down to Belize or Costa Rica! But...I'm having a hard time deciding which one! We have done the Mexico thing tons and i've been to hawaii and so we thought somewhere totally different but has to have beaches and warm sun! Here's what I know....

Costa Rica

pros

safe, jungle for exploring and zip lines, live valcanoes, beaches!,so many animals everywhere

cons

you have to drive everywhere(2 to 4 hrs from airport),BAD roads(you have to have an off road vehicle), to many pot holes to count!, many hotels are more primitive...not like Cancun!,12 hrs between transfers to get there, pacific side does not have white sand which I LOVE!

Belize

pro's

only a 1/2 day trip, not so primitive, nice hotels with great adventures to go on, white beaches

con's

haven't done as much research so I'm not sure yet

Here's the thing...we want all the luxury of a nice hotel but the adventure also. I love sitting on the beach but I need to be able to expore and go on crazy excursions too! Has anyone been to either of these places or know someone who has? I have read so much about both and you hear the good and bad so i'm so confused...Help???????

New Calling!

So I got a new calling today...CAMP DIRECTOR! I love girls camp but have never had to actually do all the hard work. I'm a little nervous, i have never felt like much of a leader, but I'm excited to have something new to focus on! My new primary class is cute this year and I will be keeping them up until probably spring and then take a break while I prepare for girls camp. Anyone done this? Ideas would be great or advice. Oh and the new website for Rockstar-hair.com is up. Let me know what you think. He is still changing things here and there but for the most part its done! love you all!

New web site...

Scott and I have never loved our website so rather then emptying more money into our web designers pocket Scott is taking some tech classes and learning how to do it himself! Its driving me crazy cause he is obsessed with it but he loves being creative and it is coming together really nice. He loves going to school and taking all these online courses! I will let you know when he uploads it..so look at the before so you can give us an HONEST opinion of the new one. ok...no she isn't naked but to make a long story short...we paid for a photo shoot to be done a year ago and the photographer thought it would be best to do the pics in bra and underwear so that the "hair" was the focus! Our amazing friend Allison was the artistic director for the shoot and tried to talk him out of it but...The sad part is we had beautiful hair( thanks to Allison) and beautiful models but it left us with very few pics that we felt we could use unless we started a men's magazine! lol! Thanks again to Allison, she has let us use some of her pics from her new school in Idaho Falls(opening soon... Austin Kade Acadamy) on our new website. I will let you know later this week when its up!
